My Priorities

Priorties for Ward 1 & 5

Residents of Wards 1 & 5 deserve more than election-time promises. They deserve a councillor who listens, responds and works consistently to produce measurable results. My priorities are shaped by what residents experience every day: unsafe driving, traffic congestion, pressure on property taxes, slow City services, overcrowded neighbourhoods and aging local infrastructure. These challenges will not be solved overnight—but they can be addressed through responsible decisions, persistent advocacy and honest communication.

Safer Streets and Neighbourhoods

Everyone should feel safe walking through their neighbourhood, using a local park or allowing their children to play outside.

Residents continue to raise concerns about speeding, dangerous driving, vehicle theft, break-ins and inadequate enforcement. Public safety requires cooperation between the City, Peel Regional Police, by-law enforcement and the community.


What I will work to deliver :

  • Advocate for stronger traffic enforcement in speeding hotspots.
  • Expand the use of traffic-calming measures where evidence shows they are needed.
  • Improve street lighting around parks, pathways and other vulnerable areas.
  • Support neighbourhood safety meetings with police and enforcement officials.
  • Push for faster responses to illegal parking, unsafe properties and repeated by-law violations.
  • Publish clear updates so residents know what action has been requested and what progress has been made.
  • My goal: neighbourhoods where families, seniors and children feel safe at home and outside.

Less Congestion and Better Local Roads

Residents should not lose valuable time every day because roads, signals and transit services have failed to keep pace with growth.

Traffic congestion cannot be fixed with slogans. It requires better planning, improved signal timing, reliable transit and coordination between the City, Region and province.


What I will work to deliver :

  • Identify the most serious congestion points in Wards 1 & 5 using resident feedback and traffic data.
  • Advocate for better traffic-signal coordination during peak hours.
  • Push for timely repairs of potholes, damaged sidewalks and deteriorating local roads.
  • Demand that transportation improvements accompany new development.
  • Support safer crossings near schools, parks and seniors’ facilities.
  • Advocate for more reliable Brampton Transit routes and schedules.
  • Improve communication before road closures and construction begin.
  • My goal: safer, smoother and more predictable travel through our community.

Responsible Spending and Property-Tax Accountability

Residents are paying more and expect City Hall to manage every dollar responsibly.

Before approving higher taxes or new spending, Council must examine existing programs, contracts and administrative costs. Essential services should be protected, but waste and duplication should not be ignored.


What I will work to deliver :

  • Review major spending proposals before supporting them.
  • Require clear public explanations of project costs and expected results.
  • Push for stronger oversight of contracts, consulting expenses and cost overruns.
  • Protect essential frontline services while challenging unnecessary spending.
  • Support competitive and transparent procurement.
  • Provide residents with understandable budget updates—not pages of government jargon.
  • My commitment: I will treat public money with the same care families use when managing their own household budgets.

Growth That Respects Existing Neighbourhoods

Brampton will continue to grow, but development must not come at the expense of current residents.

New housing must be supported by roads, transit, parks, community facilities and other necessary infrastructure. Approving more development without adequate services simply transfers the consequences to existing neighbourhoods.


What I will work to deliver :

  • Require infrastructure capacity to be considered before supporting major development.
  • Protect established neighbourhoods from incompatible development.
  • Advocate for responsible housing options that respect community character.
  • Strengthen enforcement against unsafe and non-compliant properties.
  • Push for better coordination between development approvals and infrastructure construction.
  • Ensure residents receive early, understandable information about major proposals.
  • Create meaningful opportunities for residents to provide feedback before decisions are finalized.
  • My goal: responsible growth that improves Brampton without overwhelming the people already living here.

Reliable City Services and Faster Responses

Residents should not have to make repeated calls to get a pothole repaired, a by-law complaint investigated or a service request answered.

Good government begins with basic services that work.


What I will work to deliver :

  • Establish a responsive ward office with clear service standards.
  • Track unresolved resident cases instead of sending people from department to department.
  • Hold regular community office hours in different neighbourhoods.
  • Improve follow-up on 311 requests and recurring local problems.
  • Push for better snow clearing, road maintenance and upkeep of public spaces.
  • Publish regular reports explaining what was raised, what was completed and what remains unresolved.
  • My standard: every resident deserves a response, honest information and proper follow-through.

Better Parks, Recreation and Community Spaces

Strong communities need places where children can play, seniors can stay active and neighbours can connect.

Parks, trails, recreation facilities and community programs are essential public services—not decorative extras.


What I will work to deliver :

  • Improve maintenance of parks, playgrounds, sports fields and walking trails.
  • Advocate for recreation programs that are accessible and reasonably priced.
  • Support more activities for youth, families and seniors.
  • Improve lighting, seating and accessibility in public spaces.
  • Address damaged playground equipment and neglected facilities more quickly.
  • Consult residents before major changes are made to local parks.
  • Encourage partnerships that expand programming without placing the full cost on taxpayers.
  • My goal: clean, safe and welcoming community spaces for residents of every age and ability.
