Safer Streets and Neighbourhoods
Everyone should feel safe walking through their neighbourhood, using a local park or allowing their children to play outside.
Residents continue to raise concerns about speeding, dangerous driving, vehicle theft, break-ins and inadequate enforcement. Public safety requires cooperation between the City, Peel Regional Police, by-law enforcement and the community.
What I will work to deliver :
- Advocate for stronger traffic enforcement in speeding hotspots.
- Expand the use of traffic-calming measures where evidence shows they are needed.
- Improve street lighting around parks, pathways and other vulnerable areas.
- Support neighbourhood safety meetings with police and enforcement officials.
- Push for faster responses to illegal parking, unsafe properties and repeated by-law violations.
- Publish clear updates so residents know what action has been requested and what progress has been made.
- My goal: neighbourhoods where families, seniors and children feel safe at home and outside.
